The primary goal of the FRED development team in 2025 was to adapt the FRED registry system to support the newly built portal for managing gov.cz domains. This work for the Czech government included extending the registry system to enable DNS management for individual domains, adding interfaces for integration with the new web portal, and developing the portal itself.

In addition to these core changes, the team delivered a number of other enhancements required to integrate the solution into state infrastructure, meet specific administrative requirements for managing the gov.cz registry, enable secure API access for automated tasks, and ensure long-term operation of the entire system. We are preparing to release a new version of the FRED in early 2026, but resources are already available now. Compatible version of the FRED system, backend extensions and the API are available in these projects on FRED's git server - dnshosting service, zone generator service compatible with dnshosting (catalogue zone support), REST API for domain records management and registry core services compatible with dnsportal from version 3.0.0.
